Q: Can I participate if I have no racing experience?
Yes, absolutely! This series is perfect for all newcomers to the racing sport. We provide thorough racing instruction at many events with a racing school the day before the main race. When you get a chance, you can follow them around the track and learn the optimal racing line.
Q: Can I sign up if I don’t have any teammates?
We would be happy to pair you up with other drivers. Each registration page has a link to a Free Agent Sign-up form. Please complete the form and call us at 1 (866) 722-3669 for assistance to get started.

Q: What should I bring with me on race day?
While we supply everything you need to race, there are some other considerations. You may want to bring:
Water/Beverages* - We will recommend that you bring your own. We usually have water and sports drinks for sale on site.
Food - Bring snacks and sandwiches as not all tracks have a snack bar/grill.
Tents and Chairs - Each track has areas along the side lines to set up team base.
Padding and Tape - You are welcome to bring foam padding and tape to add a comfortable cushioning to your kart seat.
Rain Gear - This may be worn over required race gear.
Extra Clothes - Bring a dry set of clothes (including shoes) to go home in. If it is hot or we experience some rain, it is most comfortable in dry clothes for the return home.
Signaling/Communication - You will want to have a way to plan your strategy and keep track of driver’s changes. You may also want to bring something bright or visible to signal the driver on the track that it is time to come in. Radios are allowed, please just make sure they are well attached to the driver.
*No open alcoholic beverages allowed before the Checkered Flag. Some tracks do not allow alcohol at any time, so please inquire before consuming.

Race Information
Q: Is there practice before the race?
Yes, there is practice and qualifying included with your team entry. Additional practice sessions are also available for purchase before the team practice. See the event schedule for more details.
Q: How is a driver change performed?
Just like what you see in the endurance races on TV. The team member signals from the pit when it is time to come in. When the driver pulls into the pits, the driver change is timed for 20 seconds to allow for weight change and kart configuration. The replacing the driver takes over and heads back out on to the track. EXAMPLE
Q: How is a fuel stop performed?
Each kart can drive 2.25 hours on a tank of fuel. During the drivers meeting, the Race Director will notify the drivers when the fuel windows will be open. During a fuel stop you will swap to another kart during a timed stop. That insures that all competing karts will get the same length pit stop, and teams get the opportunity to drive different karts throughout the race.
Q: How do you determine the starting grid?
The starting order is determined according to lap times collected by our computerized scoring system during the practice and qualifying session. Fastest lap time starts first in line on our exclusive LeMans-style starting grid; Second fastest lap time starts second in line; third starts third; and so on.
Q: What is a LeMans Start?
The LeMans Start originated in LeMans, France in the early years of this century when the drivers would line up across the track from their cars, which were also lined up, angled down the track in the direction they will race. At the drop of the green flag, the driver runs over to his idling racing machine, jumps in and drives away as fast as he can. The atmosphere is electric as the cars are moved into position and the drivers prepare for the sprint across the track. EXAMPLE
Q: How do you time and score?
We use the AMB real-time timing and scoring system. It is the same system that is used in F1, CART and NASCAR. It keeps track of every kart on the track. We have a monitor on site and send data to Speedhive, RaceHero.io, & Race Monitor mobile apps, so you at anytime can check your teams position, and compare lap times with your teammates and competitors. These apps and our website have live timing that friends and family can view anywhere they get internet!
Q: What does it take to win?
Consistency, good pit stops and clean driving. The team that is running consistent lap times combined with avoiding the black flag (penalty) and well timed pit stops will win the race. We also give out prizes for different classes, so there is a good chance you can walk home with a prize.
Q: Do you race if it rains?
Yes! Endurance Karting races rain or shine. Mild to moderate rain is not usually an issue. What does interrupt races is heavy to extreme rain that floods the racing surface.
Lightning within 8 miles of the track can also cause red flag delays, but we always try to get as much racing in as possible.
The race clock does continue to run during weather caused interruptions as track usage limitations and participants travel plans play roles in how long we can be on track.
You must register in person, no matter what the weather looks like at your present location. Please show up or you will be considered a no show cancellation and forfeit your entry fee.
Kart Information
Q: What kind of karts are used?
We use the a DINO Racing chassis, with safety rails, to avoid interlocking of the wheels. The karts are mounted with a torquey 10 horsepower, 270cc Honda engine. The clutch is a one-speed oil-bath centrifugal clutch that engages the rear axle at 1800 RPMs. Top speed is 53 MPH.
Q: Are all karts equal?
Yes! All the karts are professionally race prepared and engines are tuned using electronic equipment.
Q: Can I make changes to the kart?
No, as this is a drivers series, kart set-up, maintenance and refueling during the race is done by Endurance Karting mechanics. All you have to do is to focus on the driving and the race strategy (the fun stuff). In the end, the victory will go to the team with the most consistent drivers and the best pit stop strategy.
Q: Am I responsible for any liability?
No, you are not responsible for any damage to the kart. Unlike any other racing series you only pay your entry fee and are not held responsible for kart damage.
Q: Do you change tires or brakes during the race?
No, all tires and brakes will last the length of the race. Maintenance like this is done before the event.
Q: How many karts per race?
Usually, our entry list is capped at 21. However, sometimes we have as many as 25 teams running in the races. That provides for competitive racing and a great mix of drivers – some events have over 150 participants. Minimum kart count is 12.
